Small supersport bike for new generations of motorcyclists. The Tornado 400 is Benelli’s fully-faired bike designed to meet the needs of young riders, capable of guaranteeing fun, performance and reliability in all conditions. A dynamic, light and extremely manoeuvrable motorbike that features technical solutions developed by Benelli R&D exclusively for this small sports bike, starting with a completely new beating heart, a brand new frame geometry and the use of a single-sided swingarm. A motorbike with a racy, modern, engaging design, created to appeal to the riders of tomorrow.

The parallel twin-cylinder, four-stroke, 399 cc engine, specially designed for the Tornado 400, is capable of unleashing a power output of 47.6 hp (35.0 kW) at 10,000 rpm, with peak torque of 38 Nm (3.9 kgm) at 8,000 rpm. Thanks to a stroke (51.8 mm) and bore (70 mm diameter) ratio of a superquadro engine, with displacement of 399 cc, it is able to rev up to over 10,000 rpm and achieve true sports bike performance. The double overhead camshaft, 8-valve timing system, driven by a silent chain on the right-hand side, follows the traditional Benelli layout, precise and reliable. The new-generation cylinder head has been designed to improve both fluid-dynamic and thermal efficiency with respect to previous engines. On the transmission side there is a lightweight and compact 6-speed gearbox, combined with a torque-assisted, slipper clutch, which makes for smoother gear changes.

The chassis features a tubular steel frame and steel plates bolted to the crankcase and engine head so that their structure contributes to the overall rigidity of the frame, thus reducing size and weight for a smooth, light and agile ride in all conditions. The suspension system is composed of an upside-down fork with 37millimetre diameter legs at the front, with 115 mm of travel, while at the rear there is a brand new single-sided swinging arm in aluminium, with progressive linkage and spring preload adjustable central monoshock (141 mm of travel at the wheel), capable of guaranteeing this two-wheeler great agility and handling, facilitating cornering.

The 17" aluminium alloy rims have a very modern design and mount a 110/70 tyre on the front and 150/60 at the rear. The brakes are equipped at the front with a 300mm diameter semi-floating double disc, with radial master cylinder and twopiston floating calliper, while at the rear there is a 240 mm diameter disc with a

two-piston floating calliper. The bike is equipped with ABS.

The Tornado 400 features a state-of-the-art full-led headlamp unit, offering maximum visibility in all conditions. The instrumentation features a 5-inch TFT colour display with remote control on the handlebars, which has Bluetooth for mobile phone connection enabling it to show incoming calls and notifications. In addition, by downloading an application to your mobile phone and connecting via wi-fi, you can turn the dashboard of your motorbike into a navigator. Also present is the TPMS function for tyre pressure monitoring. This small sports bike is also equipped with a USB socket.

The Tornado 400 will be available at all Benelli dealers in the first half of 2024. The price is yet to be determined.
